Booking reliable transportation for you + your guests is imperative to the success of your day. Whether you want to transport yourself, you and your wedding party, or everyone in attendance, planning the transportation can be tricky. But, it doesn't have to be!

If you opt to hire a transportation service during your wedding day, here are some helpful tips to consider as you book!
If you need transportation to your ceremony space, make sure that you're scheduled to arrive about an hour early. This will give you ample time to settle in before your guests start to arrive. Keep in mind that some of your guests may show up 30 minutes early, so you don't want to risk anyone seeing the bride before the ceremony!
Leave about 30 minutes of room between the end of your ceremony and the time you would like to arrive at the reception for wedding party and family photos! You can reserve transportation services for your guests immediately following the ceremony, but make sure they're reserved long enough to move your guests (if you opt for that) and THEN the wedding party after your photographer has taken all of your group pictures!
If your ceremony and reception are in two different places, consider how much room the transportation has in their vehicle(s) per trip, how many guests you have, and how long it would take for transport, roundtrip. That sounds like heavy logistics, but it's not too complicated! For example, if you have 100 guests to transport, a trolley that can hold 28 guests, and it takes 20 minutes (roundtrip), you know that you need to reserve at LEAST an hour and twenty minutes to ensure that everyone makes it during your rental period. This also applies if you are shuttling guests from a hotel to the ceremony.
Always, always, ALWAYS book for a little longer than you think you may need. Even if Google Maps tells you that the trip from your downtown ceremony location to your downtown reception venue is 8 minutes roundtrip, you need to plan for it taking more time. There could be unplanned construction, a big event happening in the area and congesting traffic, more guests in attendance than expected, etc., and it's always safer to plan for it. Additionally, Google Maps doesn't take into account the amount of time it takes to load and unload the vehicle. Best practices are to reserve a little more than you need to avoid any possible hiccups along the way.
